European collaborations
Participants from countries that have a formal collaboration with the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education can usually have their credits recognized through their national accreditation system.
A full list of collaborating countries is available here.
North America
United States
Physicians based in the United States can convert EACCME® credits into AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ through the American Medical Association.
A credit conversion application must be submitted to the AMA for each activity. Participants are required to provide a completed application form, including payment information, together with a copy of the certificate of attendance from the EACCME-accredited activity.
Further details regarding the application process, required documentation, and applicable fees can be found in the official application form.
Canada
In Canada, physicians report their continuing professional development activities through the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Activities accredited by EACCME® can be self-reported via the “My MOC” platform and are recognized as accredited learning activities under the MOC framework.
Other Countries
For countries outside Europe and North America, recognition of EACCME® credits is not standardized and depends on the respective national regulatory authority. Participants are generally required to submit their certificate of attendance to their medical council or licensing body, which will determine on a case-by-case basis whether and to what extent the credits are accepted.
